Managing the Under 6-Year-Old Patients, Including Newborn Screening
In this module of the Eight-Part Cystic Fibrosis Series, Dr. Susanna McColley will discuss with Dr. John P. Clancy the management of cystic fibrosis patients under 6-years-old and the importance of new born screening (NBS). NBS is critical for early detection and treatment of young CF patients. Dr. McColley will explain the effect that has on growth and survival in these individuals. CF can occur as a “silent” pulmonary disease in infants and young children, which makes early detection a life saving measure.
These activities are designed for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with cystic fibrosis.
